Quotes by John Muir

Born in Scotland and raised on a Wisconsin farm, John Muir walked a thousand miles to the Gulf of Mexico before settling in California, where the Yosemite Valley became his home and his cause. His books and articles led to the creation of Yosemite National Park in 1890; he founded the Sierra Club in 1892 and is remembered as the father of the national parks.
